Executive

Co-Chairs

The Co-Chair positions will be occupied by the AMA NSW DIT Class Councillor, as described in the rules of the AMA (NSW) Ltd, and the Chair of the ASMOF NSW Medical Officers’ State Group Committee, as described in the rules of ASMOF (NSW).

Term: 2 years (AMA Councillor) and 3 years (SMOG Chair) unless resign prior.

Key responsibilities

  • Plan and chair monthly DITC meetings, with the assistance of the DITC secretariat.
  • Regularly communicate with and report to the DITC regarding activities and issues of interest to DITs.
  • Lead and coordinate the functioning of the executive group, and delegate duties to portfolio-based officers as appropriate.
  • Represent and advocate for DIT members in internal and external forums, including to hospitals and health services, government and media, with support from AMA/ASMOF secretariat.
  • Oversee working groups of DITC members for specific DIT matters and projects.
  • Liaise with AMA and ASMOF Councils and staff in relation to DIT matters and projects.

Deputy Chair, Internal

Term: one year, unless resign prior.

Key responsibilities

  • Assist with the duties of the Co-Chairs as and when required.
  • Regular attendance at DITC meetings (minimum 5 per year, in person or via teleconference).
  • Represent and advocate for DIT members in internal forums, in consultation with the Co-Chairs.
  • Act as the NSW representative to the Federal AMA Council of Doctors in Training (CDT).
  • Regularly communicate with and report to the DITC regarding activities and issues of interest to DITs.
  • Assist the Co-Chairs to oversee working groups of DITC members for specific DIT matters and projects.
  • Liaise with AMA and ASMOF Councils and staff in relation to DIT matters and projects.

Deputy Chair, External

Term: one year, unless resign prior.

Key responsibilities

  • Assist with the duties of the Co-Chairs as and when required.
  • Regular attendance at DITC meetings (minimum 5 per year, in person or via teleconference).
  • Represent and advocate for DIT members in external forums, in consultation with the Co-Chairs.
  • Act as the alternate NSW representative to the Federal AMA Council of Doctors in Training (CDT).
  • Regularly communicate with and report to the DITC regarding activities and issues of interest to DITs.
  • Assist the Co-Chairs to oversee working groups of DITC members for specific DIT matters and projects.
  • Liaise with AMA and ASMOF Councils and staff in relation to DIT matters and projects.

Officers

Term: one year, unless resign prior.

The following key responsibilities apply to all elected Officer positions, as they pertain to their individually named portfolio areas:

  • Education and Training
  • Equity and Diversity
  • Wellbeing

Key responsibilities

  • Regular attendance at DITC meetings (minimum 4 per year, in person or via teleconference).
  • Assist the Co-Chairs with planning and arranging one DITC meeting per year, on matters related to the named portfolio area.
  • Represent and advocate for DITs in internal and external forums related to the named portfolio area, in consultation with the Co-Chairs.
  • Communication with the DITC regarding activities and issues within the named portfolio area as required.
  • Participate in relevant DITC working groups as they arise.
